I wanted to write you guys a note about the gig you played at our wedding last December 20th 2013 in Ballyseedy Castle, Tralee. We also had a second night after the wedding that most people stayed up for and they were not short of letting us know what they thought of the wedding and in particular the entertainment ye guys provided so professionally. Ye lads even went the extra mile and played in the residents bar with some of my musically talented friends, a classic touch and a perfect excuse for continuing the night on!
Ye absolutely filled the floor all night. I had some of the girls that were at the wedding complain to me that they really wanted to sit down but the music was so good they couldn’t bring themselves to do it. “I’ll just wait and see if the next song is bad”… it never was – sheer exhaustion is all that removed people from the dance floor.
Your song selection was nothing short of excellent. The quality of your playing and singing was brilliant. The traditional Irish music session for the reception drinks stole everyone’s attention when they entered the castle, ye created such a rustic traditional vibe and it was so apt for the setting. My little niece Maggie particularly loved the music as she showed with her dancing!
My Uncle Paddy who plays music himself said “That it was the best wedding he was ever at or ever will be at” and “Whatever you’re paying the band, they’re worth it”! We also had some very musical people at the wedding who absolutely loved the range of songs you played.
Thanks for the great evening and night. You were absolutely amazing. I can’t explain to you how happy we both are with how the night went. When we were researching bands for the wedding we felt they were the most integral part to the night and after listening to you playing at my brothers wedding the year previous ye were without doubt the number one choice. I can’t wait to see the wedding video and listen to the music again. I will forward you the clips from the first two songs “Close to me” by The Cure and “Back down South” by the kings of Leon.
One of the best bits for me was that it proved beyond doubt that it is possible to find a wedding band that doesn’t have to rely on the same old tired set-list “to please everyone”
Can’t wait to see ye gig in Waterford or anywhere in the country soon.
Simply the best wedding band I ever saw and heard playing.
See ye all soon,
Ross and Claire Behan.
